About the Sonoma Post

The Sonoma Post is an independent online newspaper for Sonoma, California, from the Plaza out. Our parent company is Tribune Publications.

We cover the plaza town as a working place, not a postcard: the council and the commissions, downtown businesses, the markets and happenings around the square, schools and nonprofits, and the valley beyond the city line. We cover a planning commission with the same care we give the farmers market.

Our standards follow the tradition of the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics: seek truth and report it, minimize harm, act independently, and be accountable and transparent.

We keep news and opinion strictly separate. Reporting does not take positions on the matters it covers. Opinion pieces are labeled as opinion and signed by the Editorial Board.

We answer to no interest but our readers. Send us news tips, tell us what we missed, and hold us to these promises, loudly, when we fall short.
