SONOMA: The Plaza's outdoor movie season ends the way it should, with two films, one lawn and no ticket price. Tonight, Friday, October 16, the City of Sonoma and the Sebastiani Theatre Foundation present the final Movies Under the Stars of the year on the lawn behind City Hall, on the north side of Sonoma Plaza along Spain Street: Coco at 6:00 p.m., followed by Ghostbusters: Afterlife at approximately 8:00 p.m.

The Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce's event calendar calls tonight the final Movies Under the Stars event of the season, and the city's own listing closes the 2026 series with this double feature after two earlier nights: The Incredibles on August 28 and Back to the Future on September 18, each starting at about 7:00 p.m. SonomaValley.com's event listing carries the same date, films and venue for tonight.

What to bring, and what it costs

Admission is free, and free popcorn will be available while supplies last. Additional concessions will be available for purchase; the Chamber's listing adds that concessions will be sold onsite by Sebastiani Theatre. The city's advice for the evening is the series standard: grab dinner from a local restaurant, bring the family, and settle in with a blanket or lawn chairs for a movie or two under the stars.

The pairing is a Plaza kind of double bill, one film for the youngest viewers in the early slot and a second, later screening once the light is gone. After tonight, the lawn behind City Hall goes back to being a lawn until next summer's series. Blankets down by 6:00 p.m. is the whole instruction set.
