SONOMA: Sonoma Sundays, the free summer concert series at the Grinstead Amphitheater on the Plaza, closes its 2026 season on October 4 with a double bill: the Sonoma Stealth Band and the Joe Smiell Orchestra.

The series ran from June 7 through October 4, filling Sunday afternoons on the square with free live music. The September 27 performance featured Robert Dehlinger's Alpha Rhythm Kings, led by a bandleader the organizers bill as Sonoma's own.

Free concerts on the Plaza are one of the square's oldest traditions in spirit, even as the lineups change year to year. The amphitheater sits at the park's edge, close enough to the surrounding restaurants and tasting rooms that a Sunday show easily becomes a full afternoon downtown.

The series is presented as a community gathering first and a concert second. Blankets and lawn chairs are the seating chart, and the crowd skews local, with tourists mixing in as the summer visitor season peaks.

The October 4 finale is the last scheduled free concert on the Plaza this year. With the Tuesday Night Market season also ended, the square now turns toward fall: harvest crowds, holiday planning, and the quieter rhythm of the off-season.
